POLICE COMMUNITY RELATIONS MONTH CELEBRATION
By: FO1 Maharlika Isabel A Aquino
In order to say that a certain community is an effective and a competent one, it is important for them to have cooperation or oneness, and a good relationship towards the ruling government as well. That’s why in this month, the Bureau of Fire Protection is proudly celebrating the Police Community Relations Month together with the Philippine National Police.
To show support for their celebration, Camiling BFP spearheaded by SFO4 Jose N Ildefonso, our OIC/ Municipal Fire Marshal, conducted activities such as Fire Safety Seminars, Fire and Earthquake drills, and Ugnayan sa Barangay in various Establishments, schools, and Barangays. Aside from information dissemination, the collaboration showed how important it is to have cooperation and emphasized the importance of their role in helping to minimize the hazard that can happen in case of emergency situations. And with their own initiative and willingness to learn, they have learned the proper operation of Firetruck, proper coupling connection and alternative methods of extinguishing fire which can be very useful in case of responding to Fire related emergencies.
The said activities had been a great help in building a better relationship between the BFP, PNP and the different schools, barangays and establishments. This step is the big advantage especially in the part of BFP since we are lacking personnel. However, despite of the hard situation that we are going through, with the support that we get from the people and other government agencies like PNP and LDRRMO, we will always do our best to fulfill our mission and do our job whenever duty calls.
